Ferrey and Mennim are skilled at the continued sensitive adaptation and updating of churches. At All Saints Church, Northallerton we have worked with the church community to undertake a series of projects adapting the 900 year old church for modern use and make its environment more comfortable for its users.
Having inserted a new kitchen that has enabled the wide north aisle to perform a range of community functions such as a popular baby and toddler group, we have recently completed a major re-lighting scheme. This has been designed to be multi-functional allowing light settings perfectly adapted to the church’s different uses. LED fittings have been used throughout for their extremely low energy use and naturalistic colour rendering.
Our latest completed project has been providing underfloor heating and new stone flooring throughout the nave, aisles and transepts. This has resulted in a truly warm and comfortable church throughout. The 1970s pews were removed and new chairs allow multiple flexible arrangements.
The next project involves new built-in storage and movable dais. These on-going improvements have enabled the exemplary facilities that can allow it to continue at the heart of the community in Northallerton.
